Rotacef is an antibiotic belonging to the cephalosporin group. It acts by destroying bacteria that cause infections. The medication is intended for use in adults and children, including newborns. It is administered as an intravenous infusion or injection directly into a vein or muscle.

Показания: Treatment of infections: meningitis, pneumonia, otitis media, peritonitis, urinary tract and kidney infections, bone and joint infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bacteremia, endocarditis. Also used for specific infections including sexually transmitted infections (gonorrhea and syphilis), fever in neutropenic patients due to bacterial infection, chronic bronchitis with lung infection, Lyme disease in adults and children over 15 days old, and surgical infection prophylaxis.

Дозировка: Administered by healthcare professional via intravenous infusion or injection. Adults and children over 12 years (≥50 kg): 1-2 g once daily, up to 4 g daily for severe infections. Children 15 days to 12 years (<50 kg): 50-80 mg/kg once daily, up to 100 mg/kg daily for severe infections. Newborns 0-14 days: 20-50 mg/kg once daily. Dosage adjusted based on infection severity, type, and renal/hepatic function.

Состав: Active substance: ceftriaxone (as ceftriaxone sodium) 1000 mg per vial. Solvent contains: lidocaine hydrochloride 10 mg/ml, sodium hydroxide, water for injection.
