Antiviral medication for systemic use that acts by destroying or inhibiting viral growth. Used to treat and prevent infections caused by Herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2, as well as Varicella zoster and Herpes zoster infections affecting skin and mucous membranes.

Показания: Treatment of primary and recurrent skin and mucous membrane infections caused by Herpes simplex virus (types 1 and 2), including genital herpes. Prevention of recurrences caused by Herpes simplex virus in immunocompetent patients. Prevention of primary and recurrent infections caused by Herpes simplex virus in immunodeficient patients. Treatment of infections caused by Varicella zoster and Herpes zoster.

Дозировка: Adults: For Herpes simplex infections, 200 mg (1 capsule) five times daily for 5 days. For prevention in immunocompetent patients, 200 mg four times daily. For Varicella zoster, 800 mg five times daily for 7-10 days. For Herpes zoster, 800 mg four times daily for 5 days. Children over 2 years receive adult doses; children under 2 years receive half the adult dose. Dosage adjustments required for elderly patients and those with renal impairment. Swallow capsules with sufficient water and maintain adequate fluid intake.
