Euthyrox contains levothyroxine, a synthetic thyroid hormone used to treat thyroid disorders and hormone deficiencies. It replaces or supplements natural thyroid hormones when the thyroid gland does not produce sufficient amounts. The medication is also used to prevent goiter recurrence after surgery and to manage thyroid cancer growth.
Indicații: Treatment of benign goiter in patients with normal thyroid function; prevention of goiter recurrence after thyroid surgery; replacement therapy for thyroid hormone deficiency; suppression of thyroid tumor growth in thyroid cancer; balancing thyroid hormone levels when taking antithyroid medications; thyroid function testing.
Dozaj: Oral administration. Take one daily dose on an empty stomach, in the morning, at least 30 minutes before breakfast, preferably with a small amount of liquid. Dosage is individualized by the physician based on clinical examination and laboratory tests, typically starting with a low dose increased every 2-4 weeks. Usual maintenance dose for adults: 100-200 mcg daily. For children with congenital hypothyroidism: initial dose 10-15 mcg per kg body weight for the first 3 months, then adjusted individually.
