Antidiarrheal medicament that inhibits intestinal muscle movements, slowing the propulsion of intestinal contents and improving water and salt reabsorption.
Indications: Symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhea in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.
Dosage: Adults and adolescents over 12 years: initial dose 2 capsules (4 mg), then 1 capsule (2 mg) after each diarrheal stool. Maximum daily dose 6 capsules (12 mg).
Composition: Active substance: loperamide hydrochloride 2 mg/capsule. Excipients: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, magnesium stearate, gelatin, colorants (E 171, E 131, E 124, E 104).
